You are a brilliant writer. Your copy is clear and stylish, it's written appropriately and does the job it is designed for. Trouble is, there is just too much of it. You have a quart of words and a pint pot to squeeze them into.
You never see your own work as others do. However good your writing, a good editor will make it better by cutting it. In fact (and this is an extravagant claim, I know), I would say that in any piece over 500 words, it's possible to cut 30% of the copy without losing any of the sense or meaning. If it's your copy, you won't think this is possible.
